EVDO Performance Engineer
Education:
- Required: Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering
Skills/Experience:
1. Required: 3+ years of work experience in the CDMA (IS95, 1xRTT, EV-DO) with emphasis on RF Optimization.
2. Required: significant work experience in one of the following roles:
- Manager/Senior RF Engineer at a major CDMA wireless operator, and/or
- RF engineer/consultant at a major telecom network equipment vendor, and/or
- Senior/Principal RF engineer/consultant at a well-known telecom professional services firm
3. Required: Experience operating drive test equipment
4. Required: experience optimizing/managing a CDMA network to meet specified KPIs; good understanding of all the KPIs with which the performance of a 1xRTT network is tracked
5. Required: Experience with RF network optimization using drive test data as well as network stats and logs.
6. Preferred: Knowledge of standard wireless network equipment counters & logs
7. Required: Knowledge of standard office tools such as Excel, Word & Powerpoint
8. Required: Good oral and written communication skills and inter-personal skills
9. Required: Authorization to work in the US
Requirements
Engineers must have suitable experience in radio propagation analysis, modeling, data communication networks analysis, design and optimization of CDMA networks. Knowledge of CDMA2000 EV-DO system operation and network overlay design scenarios, including co-location issues such as antenna sharing and configuration. Familiarity with EV-DO packet data protocols, power and rate control schemes is a plus for candidates. Engineers must have working experience with at least one of the following CDMA vendor systems: Lucent, Nortel, Motorola, or Samsung.
Candidates require to have a knowledge of vendor parameters and ability to create and run scripts in switches. Optimization skills includes the identification and fixing of network problems related to voice and data performance, familiarity with layer 3 messaging, CDMA 1XRTT and EV-DO call flow. Abilities to process and analyze drive test data, and make recommendations to correct performance problems. Experience with Planet EV, Agilent, Grayson or Wiltek measurement tools for network optimization and Actix post processing tool is a plus.
Senior Software Engineer
Analyzing user requirements and understanding business requirements. Participating in all phases of the development lifecycle for maintaining the quality of software releases and deliveries. Designing and developing applications using object oriented design including co-libraries, design patterns, JSP and Servlets. Designing and developing reusable Core Java components using Python, JMS, JAXP, JAXB, JDBC, Swing, Java Beans, RMI, JGroup, JavaScript and SOAP. Designing the SQL database. Developing and implementing test validations of the applications. Modifying the applications based upon the test results. Researching and fixing bugs with the applications. Developing implementation details and forwarding to the Engineering management, other departments and other team members, as appropriate.
Requirements -- Bachelor's Degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or Math and two year's experience in the job offered or two year's experience in the IT field.
Special requirements -- Experience with Core Java, Servlets, JMS, JAXP, JAXB, JDBC, Swing, Java Beans, RMI and JGroup
